Accepting New Patients
We appreciate your decision to entrust Hart Family Dentistry with your oral health.
Our practice is founded on the belief that effective dental care starts with transparent communication. We guarantee to be forthright with you about any symptoms you may have that require additional dental treatment. Together, we can establish a genuine partnership with a shared objective of maintaining the beauty of your smile and the health of your teeth, gums, and jaw joints.
Your New Patient Dental Visit
At Hart Family Dentistry, your initial appointment is the cornerstone of our long-term relationship. This visit involves a comprehensive evaluation of your medical and dental history, where you’ll meet your doctor and our team members. We encourage you to ask any questions related to your dental health and treatment plan. To ensure ample time for this, we schedule your first appointment with enough time so that you won’t feel rushed.
Before your visit, please take the time to carefully read the provided information and complete the online forms. This step will streamline your visit, enabling us to focus on your care and address any concerns you may have.
Our practice is working together to realize a shared vision of uncompromising excellence in dentistry.
To fulfill this mission, we are committed to:
- Listening to those we are privileged to serve.
- Earn the trust and respect of patients, profession and community.
- Exceed your expectations.
- Ensure a creative, challenging and compassionate professional environment.
- Strive for continuous improvement at all levels.
Step 1: Your Appointment
When you arrive, our friendly team will greet you, check you in, notify your oral health team of your arrival, verify insurance if applicable, and guide you through any necessary new patient paperwork. You can save time by completing the new patient forms in your appointment confirmation email before you arrive.
Once completed, a team member will escort you from the waiting room to a treatment room, where they will review your dental history, medical history, and any dental health concerns or issues. The Dental Assistant will take X-rays, allowing us to examine the jaw’s structure, teeth position, and tooth condition.
Step 2: Your Exam
As a new patient, your initial comprehensive exam will last approximately one hour. This visit will help us get acquainted with each other and learn about your goals for your dental treatment. Upon completion of your examination and review of X-rays, we will review the findings and results with you. Our practice focuses on technology and has the advantage of an intraoral camera to give you a 3-D video tour concerning tooth areas if needed. Our Dentist will discuss recommendations and procedures and outline an individualized approach specific to your dental health.
Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit
On your first visit, you may not receive a cleaning. A cleaning may be completed after the doctor ensures it is the appropriate treatment for your specific oral health.
Our Dental Hygienists will review your mouth and gums and oral cancer screening. If appropriate, our Hygienist will thoroughly clean and polish your teeth. Your Hygienist may clean your teeth manually with traditional tools or use an advanced water-powered instrument based on what is best for your specific needs. Finally, your Hygienist will review tips for caring for your teeth and preventing gum disease. Your hygiene exam should take about 45 minutes, and you will leave with a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste to keep on track with your home health routine.
New Patient Forms
To prepare for your upcoming appointment, Hart Family Dentistry provides our patient forms online. Completing forms before your visit will also help ensure timely check-in for your appointment. If you are unable to print and complete the forms, we ask that you arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early, so you may complete them in the office.Patient Information Health History Form Consent for Treatment
Learn More About New Patients at Hart Family Dentistry
Yes! Hart Family Dentistry accepts new patients and is often able to schedule appointments within a few weeks or even days. Your first visit will usually include an appointment with the doctor for a comprehensive exam and all necessary X-rays. During your new patient appointment, you can speak with Dr. Hart about any specific trouble areas or concerns.
In the past, you may have been able to schedule your first appointment with a new dentist for just a dental cleaning. However, Dr. Hart follows current standards in the dental field and all new patients receive a comprehensive oral examination and any necessary x-rays. This ensures that Dr. Hart has a full and clear picture of your mouth and oral health before proceeding with care. If cleaning is the proper next course of treatment, appointments are often available on the same day.
